• The gate scrapes the driveway or drags at the latch end. The hinge post has shifted or the weld holding the hinge assembly to the post has cracked. The gate didn’t grow; its mounting point moved.
• The opener hums but the gate barely moves, especially when cold. A bent or stiff hinge fabricated out of spec forces the hydraulic or electromechanical operator to work against itself. That binding eats motors faster than anything else we see in North Richland Hills.
